GUIDED WALKS
- The Brisbane Botanic Gardens’ Volunteer Guides offer FREE guided walking tours
of the City Botanic Gardens and the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Walks
are available daily at 11am and 1pm (except Sunday and public holidays).
BOOKINGS are NOT required for these walks but bookings can be made for large
groups or groups with a special interest by calling (07) 3403 2535 (Mt Coot-tha)
or (07) 3403 0666 (City). FREE MINI-BUS TOURS -
Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Mondays and Thursdays. Enjoy a
relaxing and informative tour featuring the Temperate Zone, Exotic Rainforest,
Australian Plant Communities and Gardens highlights. Recorded commentary by
Curator, Ross McKinnon. Pick up point: 10.45am Information Centre at main

North Moreton Queensland Orchid Council Inc. Charity Spectacular Orchid
Show. Auditorium at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens. Open Saturday
8.30am-3.30pm and Sunday 8.30am-3pm. There will be many different varieties
of species and hybrid Orchid and Foliage on the benches and for sale, also
there will be Potting Demonstrations, Fertilisers, Pots and Horticultural
supplies, an information table for advice on any of your problems. Light
refreshments will be available. Admission: $4 Children under 14 free. All
the profit from this show will go to The Moreton Region Breast Cancer

North Brisbane Orchid Society, Annual Spring Show. Mt. Coot-tha Botanic
Gardens Auditorium. There will be an outstanding display of Hybrids,
Species from around the world and also Australian Natives as well as foliage
and broms. There will also be the opportunity to buy orchids and many other
plants at very reasonable prices. View ongoing potting demos and listen to
expert advice on orchid culture. Arts and craft and home made jams etc. will
also be on sale. Large Raffle Box of flowering orchids and foliage to be
drawn on Sunday afternoon. Large variety of potting accessories for sale.
Light refreshments available. Open 8.30am to 3.30pm. Admission Adults $4 and

Garden. 8 Belah Street, Mount Crosby, Queensland. Open from 9am to 4pm,
Cost $7 in support of the Australian Red Cross (Ipswich Branch). The garden
is 2 acres of temperate and subtropical gardens including Bromeliads,
Orchids, Roses, Palms, Bulbs, Mixed Borders, Succulents, Ponds and a Dry
Slope with olive trees. There are seating areas to relax and enjoy the
garden. There will be light refreshments and plants for sale on the day.
