Hello, I'm
Annette McFarlane. I am a teacher, garden writer, author and broadcaster, but
first and foremost I am a gardener. I have been gardening for as long as I can
remember. So long in fact, that I was recently awarded the Australian Gold
Laurel for Horticulture (2018) and inducted into the Horticultural Media
Association Australia Hall of Fame. (image below) You may know me from my books:
Successful
Gardening in Warm Climates,
Organic VegetableGardening, Organic Fruit Growing
and Gardening Australia's Love Your Garden.
You can also hear me on
ABC Radio Brisbane from 6-7am each Saturday
morning for Gardening Talkback. I also write the occasional article for
Gardening Australia and Organic Gardener Magazines. Visit me on
facebook for seasonal hints and tips about
gardening. I post most days. . I hope you can join me at events like the
Queensland Garden Expo and
BCC Green Heart Fairs or at one of my many free
gardening workshops held at
Brisbane City Council libraries.

One of the
best presents that I have been given. No more carrying big things in a wheel
barrow or making three or four trips.
Hard at work in the garden building a solid tepee structure to support a
vigorous vine crop. The structure may not look very elegant, but it will
soon be covered in vegetation.

Mobile. I am one happy gardener.
